ADAPTATION AND RESILIENCY
Andy Fisk, Connecticut River Watershed Council
Kim Lutz, The Nature Conservancy
The goal of this program area is to Implement a working lands restoration program on agricultural lands within the watershed in areas that are located within floodplain forests where proper land management will reduce the impact of flood waters and increase resiliency.
The Resiliency program will focus on the upper LIS watershed, with emphasis on the Deerfield River watershed in western Massachusetts (that encountered severe flood damage as a result of Hurricane Irene in 2011), and the Connecticut River main stem.
